Accessing blocked torrent sites in India will put you in jail now !

Yes if you are going to access torrent sites which are blocked by the government in India you are going to get imprisoned for 3 years and also 300000 rupees fine. Actually Indian government was taking help of internet service providers in order to block these torrent websites but now the scenario has been changed. Consequently government has taken a decision to take help of big companies like Airtel and Tata Communications because they manage many internet gateways in India. Internet service providers were adding DNS server addresses of different websites that are blocked in India so that the DNS server of the respective service provider will block that website which is to be blocked but many people were bypassing this and using different proxy servers and accessing these blocked websites but now after these companies have taken charge to block these websites the conditions have changed rapidly. Now if you try to open any blocked website you can see a warning message shown below 

"This URL has been blocked under the instructions of the Competent Government Authority or in compliance with the orders of a Court of competent jurisdiction. Viewing, downloading, exhibiting or duplicating an illicit copy of the contents under this URL is punishable as an offence under the laws of India, including but not limited to under Sections 63, 63-A, 65 and 65-A of the Copyright Act, 1957 which prescribe imprisonment for 3 years and also fine of upto Rs. 3,00,000/-. Any person aggrieved by any such blocking of this URL may contact at urlblock@tatacommunications.com who will, within 48 hours, provide you the details of relevant proceedings under which you can approach the relevant High Court or Authority for redressal of your grievance" 

However this is a warning message which is getting displayed on the blocked website but there is no clarity how the government is going to take action on the person who tries to access these websites.So just be careful and stay away from the block websites !
